Yesterday we made a return visit to the Island House for a late lunch while enjoying a relaxing day on the Eastern Shore. This place is great! The staff and kitchen crew are CONSISTENTLY AMAZING! The food was (and always is) fresh and cooked perfectly, which is hard to find with seafood sometimes- but we have been here multiple times, and they never fail! There is a GREAT VIEW from any seat in the restaurant and the vibe is exactly what you would want in this hidden gem of a fishing town! The staff is SO friendly and accommodating also, we felt welcome and not rushed! We will be back and will be ringing the bell!

Food, exceptional. Service, exceptional, ambience, and view the best. Never disappointment. Like most great restaurants. You get what you pay for best oysters Rockefeller I've ever had never leave without two orders in my belly.. Great beer selection.

Decided to give this a try for lunch on our way home from VA Beach. Peaceful marsh water view. Tables outside - weather permitting- and sparsely furnished inside. Friendly service and decent varied menu. We decided to try the crab cakes. Bear in mind that when I get crab cakes I am comparing them to G&M in Baltimore, who have THE Best crab cakes ever. These cakes at least had lump crab in them but because of the bready coating around the crab meat I couldn't taste the crab just the breading. So no taste really but they looked good. No old bay offered but apparently had we asked we could have gotten some in the side. Side dishes were fine- what you would expect - nothing to write about good or bad. This place is great for the view with ok food. We won't stop here again but will look for something else on our next trip.

We only wanted some appetizers. So we ordered oysters on the half shell. Waitress was cheerful and knew her menu. Loved the view or the marsh.

Nice place on the water. Be mindful of high tide, this entire area floods, especially the parking lot. Food was good, lite not anything too heavy. Cheese dip and crabcake was amazing. We also had these crab hush puppies that were interesting. Service was good the server checked on us, but not too much. I hope to come back here again one day.

Wanted to change things up while my partner and I were in Chincoteague and decided to venture out and drive 50 minutes to Wachapreague to experience this restaurant. My partner had a glass of moscato and I had a pint of hard cider while waiting for our food to arrive.  The ambience outside was idyllic with a variety of birds flying and chirping away along with the occasional watercraft slowly puttering by.  A group of bird watchers happened to be on the same outdoor deck as we were...a peculiar situation, but they weren't bothering anyone. Complimentary biscuits were provided, which we eventually finished towards the end of the dinner because they were on the sweet side and, thus, we treated it like dessert. For starters, we had a bowl of crab bisque, which was one of the best I've ever had.  The bisque was creamy and seasoned well...pieces of crab were scooped up in each spoonful! The garlic clams were garnished with herbs and chopped tomatoes and scallions nestled in a delicious pool of garlic butter.  Some slices of bread accompanied the plate and were used to sop up the garlic butter!  One of the best prepared clams I've ever had! The fried oysters were also one of the best I've ever had...dredged probably with panko crumbs and fried to a golden brown...maybe some paprika was used.  The result was a nice crunchy outside and a sweet and briny oyster inside. We then shared the fried seafood combo, which comprised of fried flounder that was fresh and tasty.  There was also some fried shrimp, which were not over fried, and some more of the fried oysters!  It also included a tasty crab cake, which was crispy on the outside, yet delicate and loaded with lots of crab inside. Lastly, a side of perfectly cooked potatoes accompanied the dish. Bottom line, the service was friendly and attentive, the ingredients were fresh and each dish was well executed. Totally worth the 2 hour round trip!
